As a female how do you know that your partner is with you for the right reasons and not wanting to “take care” in a nurturing way that is too controlling?

Honestly, as a man, I would say that your woman's intuition is right. If you feel uncomfortable, you probably have something there. I would, however, talk about it wih him and sometimes the way his actions make you feel are not what he intends his actions to make you feel. Talk. Maybe even with someone else not in the room, but in the house, and come to an understanding.
