I don't think are a very many real women that mind the wheelchair to be honest. A women wants to be treated well, respected and cherished. Of course the wheelchair poses issues but women see things differently to men especially in regards to relationships. Of course I'm talking about real women not silly young slappers with no life exeprience who think the only way to get a man is to act like a porn star. I'm lucky to have a wife who loves me and wants to be with me regardless but I'm learning that if i love myself and treat her properly she doesn't give a shit about the wheelchair. It's not always easy bro but there are good women out there. They will fall in love with you not the chair. Read the book 'Why men don't listen and women can't read maps'.

Hey Drew, good book.

I have since (thus the late reply) found a lovely lady & things are going well. It wasnt so much meeting her, but the conversations and going from the meeting place, to another location (or to get that next date). Any ways, great advise for any single guy or girl with SCI :-) Cheers

I honestly think that the "issues" that create barriers between two good people are often created by the less secure person. And in the case of a man in a chair, he ends up often being the less secure one. He comes off as desperate, feeling sorry for himself, or just not believing a woman would want "half a man". And that person who has any of those beliefs gets what he believes in.
Just like the overweight girl thinks nobody will ever see past the surface. Well I see a SHItLOAD of overweight grirls happily married with kids. Maybe there is a lesson for all of us in that. No matter if we are in a chair or not....................
